After earning her degree in Computational and Systems Neuroscience from Virginia Tech in 2021, Ms. Pennell relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, to pursue her legal education at Stetson University College of Law. During law school, she served as an associate on both the Stetson Law Review and the Stetson Business Law Review, where she edited faculty and student scholarship and authored an article later published in the Journal of College and University Law.

Ms. Pennell also distinguished herself in advocacy as a member of Stetson’s nationally recognized Trial Team and Moot Court Board, where she won multiple national championships and received two awards for Best Oral Advocate. In recognition of her accomplishments, at graduation, she was awarded the Dean’s Excellence Award for “extraordinary service” to the Stetson Law community and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.

Following law school, Ms. Pennell served as a judicial law clerk for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. In that role, she gained valuable experience in federal litigation, conducting extensive legal research and drafting judicial orders across a diverse range of civil matters, including Social Security disability appeals, insurance bad faith disputes, employment discrimination claims, and sex-trafficking cases.

Upon completing her clerkship, Ms. Pennell joined Mendes, Reins, and Wilander, where she continues to build on her experience by representing clients in complex civil litigation.
